The rise in COVID-19 cases in Taguig City are attributed to the massive testing done in the construction site in Fort Bonifacio and several areas in Lower Bicutan which were recently placed under localized quarantine.

The city tested 691 of 741 workers in the construction site in Fort Bonifacio, 308 were found positive. Over 2,104 tests were also conducted in areas of Purok 5 and 6 in Lower Bicutan, where 111 individuals tested positive.

These numbers make up most of the city’s new cases in the past few days. COVID-19-positive patients have been isolated and are now closely monitored in government facilities. Rest assured that the local government is on top of the situation.

The Taguig government is continuously working to ensure the protection of Taguigeños and the general public. We urge everyone to continue practicing the health and safety protocols set by the national and local governments. Let us all continue to do our part in fighting COVID-19.
